ExxonMobil helps brewery cut costs by €20,300 with Mobil Gargoyle Arctic? SHC NH 68

A major Turkish brewer switched all of its GEA Grasso and Sabroe refrigeration compressors to Mobil Gargoyle Arctic? SHC NH 68 in attempt to reduce lubricant consumption. The use of the high performance synthetic oil cut lubricant use by 73%, which contributed to an annual saving of 97,400 Turkish Lira (€20,300). The brewery was experiencing heightened operating temperatures in all 11 of its refrigeration compressors, which was contributing to elevated oil consumption. It asked local ExxonMobil distributor, Makya?san Engineering Services, for assistance in selecting a lubricant that would help overcome these problems.
Makya?san, in partnership with ExxonMobil engineers, recommended a switch to Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC NH 68, a synthetic lubricant specifically developed for use in both screw and reciprocating refrigeration compressors using ammonia as a refrigerant. The oil offers:
· Long operating life compared with mineral lubricants
· Excellent low temperature fluidity
· Good solvency for reduced deposit build-up
The switch to Gargoyle Arctic SHC NH 68 not only decreased oil consumption, it also brought down compressor operating temperatures by 80C, which reduced energy use. Furthermore, the oil’s enhanced operating life extended drain intervals, which cut waste oil disposal.
“The refrigeration industry’s switch to natural refrigerants, such as ammonia and CO2, poses specific lubrication challenges,” said xxx ExxonMobil. “However, upgrading your lubricant selection can offer important economic benefits along with operational ones. ExxonMobil has a range of products that can help optimise compressor operation while also saving operators money.”
