Atlas Copco Compressors appoints Micheál McGuinness to manage growth strategy in

   Atlas Copco Compressors has announced the appointment of Micheál McGuinness as Country Manager for its Compressor Technique business in Ireland. In this role, he will seek to strengthen the position of Atlas Copco as a market leader in the country.
 

 
  McGuinness explains his mission as: “To make sure we build upon our strong local economy and sales organisation to achieve further sustainable profitable growth across all Atlas Copco divisions in Ireland. Our strategy is designed to gain market share by focusing on sales of our core and new products, systems and services.”
 
  A major focus of his new role will be to ensure that customers benefit fully from Atlas Copco’s service offering and maintain the safe, efficient and effective operation of their equipment over the long term. “We want to help our customers protect their investment in high quality machinery and avoid unexpected situations while also increasing their uptime,” comments McGuinness.
 
  Atlas Copco Ireland has recently launched several new compressed air, industrial gas and rough vacuum products. This includes extending its range of super-efficient GHS VSD+ vacuum pumps, which now offer flow rates up to 5004 m3/h. In addition, the company has invested heavily in its local sales and marketing team, including deploying new CRM and ERP systems, and continues to develop its direct and indirect sale channels to deliver sustainable productivity to their customers.
 
  McGuinness is originally from Monaghan in Ireland. He holds a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology. Before joining Atlas Copco, he worked as as Project Team Leader for Diona in Australia and as a Service Engineer for AM Technical Solutions at Intel in Ireland. McGuiness has been with Atlas Copco since 2010. During this time, he has held a number of different positions including Purchaser, Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer and Product/Logistics Engineer. For the last three years McGuiness has been Business Line Manager for Atlas Copco’s aftermarket business in Ireland.
 
  Outside of work, Mc Guinness plays tag rugby and soccer. He follows many sports, with a special interest in GAA, football and rugby, and also enjoys reading and listening to music.
